Bit of a quandry... assuming that SKY HD in not neccessary

Would you buy the Sony KLVL32M1 for £999?
Older technology but high quality I assume?

or forget it and get a 'medium quality' £1000 32" HD LCD?
    If so which one?

    Decision, decisions... :lease: :lease:

It's not HD ready, no HDMI or DVI so I'd skip it unless you have no plans to use HD without getting a new LCD TV.

Yeah you're right - I'd be kicking myself 6 months down the road....

    Any £1000 HD Ready recommendations?

If I was getting one just now and had to stay under £1000 then I'd be looking at

    Samsung LE32R41/51BD
    Acer AT3201
    Toshiba 32WL56

It would most likely be the Samsung I'd choose from them though.

Thanks for the responses - I've hovered over a buy button for a samsung several times but had last minute doubts.....

There's more fun in the looking than the buying!

Considering last year's Sony cost £3k when released, I wouldn't write if off completely. Can't it handle HD via component?

It's a really nice looking set as well.

I own the sony klv-32m and it is a fantastic tv.picture is superb with dvd and analogue tv signals.
I am also trying to find the definative answer to this sets true HDTV capabilities.
After reading about 4 reviews they all state that it can indeed handle HDTV but through component socket.
Can anyone please let me know exactly these specs and what signals it will be able to produce, i.e 1080/Xbox360/Blue Ray.

If all it is when people talk about future proofing a matter of buying a 3rd party component lead as Sky or whoever only supply an HDMI lead, then I can rest happy. This TV was too big and expensive to be relegated to the bedroon.

    Anyone?

I had this set for a while but sent it back cause of 8-9 dead/stuck pixels, the supplier said that was an acceptable mount, took some messing about but got a refund in the end.
For £1000 it is still over priced!
