Sony KLV30MR1 owners

Hi,
A friend of mine has just bought this set which I helped him set up on Saturday. Unfortunately the image quality is very poor, suffering from the following faults

• Pixelization
• Jaggies
• Smearing
• Noise

The image quality in general via a NTL box is very poor and DVD quality isn't as good as it should be (Panasonic S75)

The question is did any of the owners of this device suffer from these and what did they do to cure them or can anyone make any suggestions.
Unfortunately he bought this without seeing the image (fool) and doesn't really want to spend anymore money on it, eg Iscan. So what are the answers?

The best thing to do I think (if the set is less than 28 days old) is return the set back to the people you brought it from. I don't think many people here or outside of here have rated this set at all. (what hifi excluded as they rate anything based on breakfast). I was even told by a Sony assistant that it "wasn't the bees knees exactly" which doesn't bode well!

On a plus, he did say the next new model was gonna be really really good, using the laptop screen (black crystal or something) design.

Would have been much better off with the KE32TS2E which I can vouch has a superb picture. Try and change it to that if possible, but he can do without analgue tuner then best to choose from another brand.
