I'm after a 17' Widescreen LCD. I've narrowed it down to two and was wonderign what people think or whether anyone has got any of these.

    Sony (£454 - hiwayhifi)

    + Brand preference
    + Virtual Surround
    - 1 Scart socket

    Toshiba (£560 - hiwayhifi)

    + iDTV
    + 2 Scart Sockets

I saw them both in Currys on the weekend. I know this isn't the best place to demo TVs but I was passing. There didn't seem to be much of a difference in the picture quality between the 2.

    Any thoughts?

I have been looking at the same 2 but also the Philips 17PF9946. I can only say that I discounted the Sony because it is 15:9 rather than 16:9. Still not sure of the other 2 but leaning towards the Philips.

Thanks PiersLoFi. I'll take a look into the Phillips & keeps the thread updated.
