If I feed the TV a 480p signal through composite(yellow) connection, will it upscale to 1080p ? I do not see anything mentioned in the manual. The Tv is set to 1080p. Thanks

Yes, all HD TVs have an upscaler built in, they have to upscale in order to ensure different resolutions are zoomed up to the panels resolution to fill the screen.

Thanks for your reply. My signal always went through my sony str-da2400es and i was impressed with the upscaling. Then the amp got zapped by lightning & it went for repairs.
So, now the signal go direct to tv - same upscaling ! Very interesting !

i am stunned to see there are still people that use composite nowadays on a 40" 1080p tv !
