    HERE

Bear in mind that you can get this online for £2000.

If you don't need the speakers and TV tuner then you should probably take a look at the Panasonic 7 series that people on the forum really rate.

be aware that this model is the usa version as the uk model model does not have hdmi or is high definition as it states in the review

The US version has the same screen though. The only notable difference is the lack of HDMI.

The US version would not be compatible with SKY's HiDef plans either. This is the same for all 852X480 screens.

I saw one (SONY - KEP42M1S & (B) - S=silver B=black in John Lewis's - Nottingham at the weekend. Picture quality for a standard defintion was outstanding. IMHO, (& on this occasion) it outclassed other screens by a long way - Pio42XDE and Viera 42" Very crisp, bright and great contrast & smooth as a babes bum. Not sure if it was conncted to another external sourse to increase the picture quality but it was very nice to watch. However. my comments are based upon a F1 racing DVD and not on Analogue TV, so if I were you I'd go to a local JL (or other high street/professional sales establishment) and have a look, ask some questions and get them to run all the screens you are interested in on DVD & 'normal TV'. Thats the best way to make a decision, see for yourself, if thier prices are not to your pocket, search the net and get a better price.
