If you can't get a 55A2000 (and I suspect Tiresias is correct, if you are lucky there might be one tucked away in a small dealer somewhere but the chances of you finding this out are so slim) then I should hang fire a while (I know, us A/V fans find this tough to do) until the new JVCs have had a thorough work-out amongst consumers OR Sony changes its mind and realises there is still a market for decent RP sets in the UK (even I would not have that much patience).

Although I am over the moon with my 55A2000, the JVC route may be worth investigating if you are hell bent on the RP route.

I know this is rubbing it in a little, but my 55A2000 was only a HD stop-gap between my old 50" Pioneer and getting the living room set-up for a decent projector, but the projector idea is now on-hold because of the quality of the 55A2000. However, given what I have seen previously, I have no reason to believe JVC cannot closely emulate the quality of SXRD (no doubt it will be swings and roundabouts though).

I strongly believe that it ought to be law that all people have to have their photos taken the first time they see their new HD RP set powered up! :) I nearly needed a muscle relaxant, I couldn't eat for days afterwards because of the tight smile on my face preventing food entering my mouth.

:smashin::cool::smashin: I like it... but yeah, if you find a KDS55 now, I'd be amazed as I can't find one either, and was hoping the 70" version would be reduced to like £2k to get shot of some of them, but no such luck

Any details on these new JVC's? then???

I think one of the contributors to this forum, GaryB, works for JVC in this country (as I say, I think). Mind you, he may not bother to read a thread entitled "Sony kds 55A2000". :D

They are not cheap and, as I say, swings and roundabouts may be the order of the day.

Amazing! There's been none available for weeks and now Total Digital seem to have them in stock again! And for a very good price (even if it's not clear whether it comes with the stand).

You lucky people :smashin:

Oops, it's clear it doesn't have a stand! Still a bargain tho'
