I was going to wait until the new OLED's come out and hope theres a big drop in price in the LCD's (I have read there out late this year but sony centre says not for a long time)
now theres a new range comming out in the next couple of months the D3000 series and maybe that will bring a price drop too with the current sony range or if theres big benifits with the 3000 range maybe go for one of them.
The thing is I have seen quite a good deal at the moment £899 for the KDL40S2530U with free dvd recorder and £949 for the KDL40V2500U with free dvd recorder.
abit confused ...lol any advice would be great :)
    Thanks again, Chris.

The D3000 isn't 1080p. I wouldn't get a 40" without 1080p. 100hz isn't worth it for me. I've seen the difference and it isn't much (not for double the price).

I was also holding off replacing my CRT till OLED or SED TVs were available but looks like it'll be couple of years till they're affordable so I've been looking at getting a 32" LCD for bedroom and noticed the 32V2500 has dropped in price by about £100 over last couple of weeks. So I'd imagine same will happen with 40", if it hasn't already.

Tho probably best to wait couple of months till D3000's are out if you can as i'm sure there'll be some bargains to be had as companies clear space for the new range. Probably not quite the fire sale there's been on the old Samsung' tho.

100 Hz models like D3000 will solve the ghosting and bluring problems that plague more or less all LCDs. If you are a football fan i would say that you should wait.
