    Hi,

I've just ventured into the big world of HD(Well almost) and was wondering if anybody had any advice on how to get the best out of my T.V

At the weekend i bought a package from curry's it consisted of :

    Sony KDL40V2500 LCD TV
    Sony RDR-HXD560 DVD Recorder

I was just wondering the best way to connect the two together?

At the moment i'm using the component jacks, but you loose the SMARTLINK facility, which seems only to be available if you use a scart lead?

I was wondering if buying a decent quality scart lead (£50?) would the difference be noticable?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

the answer is no component gives a better picture than scart no matter how much you spend on a lead

    I'm REALLY confused now!!

I always thought, in quality terms, the best was:

    1, HDMI
    2, DVI
    3, Component
    4, S-Video
    5, SCART
    6, Composite

    HELP:lease:

Ahh sorry Geoff i read your message as:

The answer is NO component gives a better picture than scart no matter how much you spend on a lead.

    When you were REALLY saying:

the answer is no. Component gives a better picture than scart no matter how much you spend on a lead.

My fault, my eyes sometimes work quicker than my brain!!

Sounds like i have the right connection for best quality, its just a shame i loose the SMARTLINK between the TV and DVD recorder.

    Thanks.
