    Hi guys,

I recently set up my PC to connect to my amp (Sony STR-DA1200ES) with a DVI to HDMI cable. Then I have HDMI from the amp to my TV. The picture came out very strange, looked as though each alternate horizontal line was missing/corrupt, basically a very poor picture. I set the resolution of the PC to 1368 x 760 to see if that would make any odds. Should I try setting it to 1920 x 1080? Not too clued up on these things,

    Any advice would be welcomed,

    Cheers,

    dvk

    Hello dvk

PC's and HDMI Inputs on Displays and AV Receivers are not always the best partners.

The HDMI Input on the AV Receiver will likely only work with a limited range of 'Video' Resolution signals (480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and possibly 1080p) - its unlikely to support any 'PC' resolution signals.

Have you connected the PC direct to the HDMI Input on your Display to find the optimal settings for the Graphics card - you may find its better to not go via the AV Receiver with your PC.

    Joe
