Question Sony KDL-65W855C - Worth Repairing?

Hi All,

Main board is gone on my Sony KDL-65W855C.

Is it worth getting repaired?

I was quoted €300 locally to have the main board replaced. I may even try to source the board and fix myself if straightforward?

It would be used potentially short term for Sky Sports (via a Q mini box) and PS4 duties and then possibly moved to a bedroom after.

Thought's?

How long is the repair work guaranteed for? If it's a decent length of time yes, if not then maybe look for a replacement.

6 months guarantee.

Is this something I could source and do myself or not worth the hassle?

I suppose it depends how technical you are. I wouldn't have the know how myself. I'm not sure a 6 month warranty would make it worth your while. I think I would sooner put it towards a new television.
