Hi, just bought a new pc with an amd radeon 6450 hdmi graphics card, plumbed it in with my sony kdl-40v4000 and although im getting a picture, im getting some sort of screen noise like little sparklys around edges of things and defining odd circles.
Any ideas?
the current resolution is set at 1920x1080(recommended) which obv outputs in 1080p, ive tried lower res but i know the tv can handle 1080p as i play my xbox on it and films no problem.
sorry for being vague:)

Your TV manual (or its electronic PDF version, which may have more information than any paper manual) should have a table showing supported resolutions from a PC - including refresh rates.
You should check this table and set the appropriate PC video output settings accordingly.

VGA 640 × 480 31.5 60 VESA
SVGA 800 × 600 37.9 60 VESA Guidelines
XGA 1024 × 768 48.4 60 VESA Guidelines
WXGA 1280 × 768 47.4 60 VESA
WXGA 1280 × 768 47.8 60 VESA
SXGA 1280 × 1024 64.0 60 VESA
