Sony KDL-32V2000U with XBOX 360 - Which HDTV cable is best?

I’ve just bought a new Sony KDL-32V2000U LCD TV…still awaiting delivery.

My question is - What HD cable do I need to get the best out of my XBOX 360?

I think I have two options –

The VGA HD AV cable or the Component HD AV cable.

Most people seem to prefer the VGA option but I’ve been warned that not all LCD TV’s accept stereo input and I don’t have any additional audio functions other than the intrinsic sound in the TV.

Does anyone know if I can get both audio & HD visuals out of the KDL-32V2000U TV with the XBOX 360 and VGA cable option?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes you can, the VGA cable comes with a phono to 2.5mm adapter, which you will then be able to plug into the 3.5mm input near your VGA connection in order to get sound.

Have the same tv, tried both VGA & component.

Personally found component a nicer more vibrant picture than the VGA with the 360 running @ 720P. Seems a lot of it is in the eye of the beholder tbh.

Although I am willing to try VGA again if someone can give me a logical or convincing reason for it ;)

I would also recommend investing in a sound system, as the Sony is a tad weak in this area, & the 360 through a decent amp in 5.1 is fantastic :)
