The Samsung SP50L7HX has the better picture if your OK with DLP's.

In the UK they are in different price brackets.

List Price on the Sony is £1399 and List Price on the Samsung is £2499.

Online the price is closer but there is still a big price difference.

    Cheers
    Lee

Samsung wins easily - I saw both today side by side and the quality of the Sony doesn't even come close to that of the Samsung. They have improved the cabinet styling quite a bit though thankfully from the last plastic lumps they threw out the door. Like others have said - depends how much you wanna spend.

Look at the other thread on the Sony to find out...

but the moral of the story is, Samsung = Better Blacks, Sony is for people who are succeptible to Rainbows.

    If I had to pick (I've unfortunately owned 2 Sagems - 56 and 45 ) I'd go for a Samsung but the L6 Joint.

So basically you didn't read any of the posts.

Do you suffer from Rainbow Effects? (I think not)

If not your better off with the Samsung...

If I was in France right now, dans le paris, I would achete the Thomson 61 inch - it's only 2800 Euros and is TRES Bien!

That's a bit short. For all you know, he means to wait until he can see one in action for himself. Please give people a bit of leeway.

Ultimately, this boils down to price and susceptibility to rainbows.

If your budget is circa £1,300 and you hurl  when watching DLP then go for the Sony 3LCD.

Conversely, if you're fine with DLP and have a budget of £2,000 then go for the Samsung (or Sagem).

I have gone for the Samsung SP46L6 for £1,300. It remains to be seen if I hurl whilst watching it. I'll know soon enough as it is due to be delivered on Tuesday.
