Sony KD65X9005 horizontal black lines/banding, warranty issue, owners please look in

not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in but it gets maximum exposure here and would like some help from my fellow forum members please.

I purchased this excellent TV on 27th August 2013 and it was bought with the Sony 5 year warranty, or so I thought. The assistant at the TV showroom neglected to send the documents off to Sony and now there is an issue and a situation.

The issue is horizontal black wire like lines and graduated banding in the middle of the screen, not great and very distracting.

The situation is, the dealer who I spoke to a year and a half ago with another issue, told me of this neglect to send the documents to Sony for the extended warranty and was covering the warranty himself. I have received no documents or anything that say this, just emails back and forth. I am pretty sure that Sony don't make these panels anymore and the chances of repair are slim, so am a bit concerned as to what will happen here.

I have also noticed that the dealer has changed their company name slightly from when I purchased the TV, they are at the exact same address and have the same phone number though.

Has anybody had to have one of these TVs repaired/replaced by Sony? Has anybody been in a similar situation to this and what was your outcome?

Thanks in advance for any help, I have added a photo of the offending lines!
