Hi

I am considering getting a Sony KD32DX51, can you switch between the analogue and digital or is it just digital.

And overall is it a good set.

Thanks

Yes, I believe it has an analogue and digital tuner.

You could do a search on this forum for 32DX51 to see what people who have purchased this TV think of it. It seems a good choice though. In my opinion, Sony tubes have the best picture quality :) .

NO.

The question you're asking is "can you select the input? Analogue, digital, auto".

The answer is no, you can't. What happens is that the tv autotunes and then sorts the stations it has found. Digital 1, 2, 3 etc come first.
Once it's found digital stations it seeks analogue ones. It puts these on channels 91, 92, 93 etc.
You could move them in the menu so you had BBC1 digital on channel 1 and BBC1 analogue on channel x, whatever you want, but you'd need a list to know which channel number was where.
What's the point?

Well I don't know what tv you have, but my KD32DX51 behaves as I wrote and Sony's website example does the same as mine.
It only has one tuner and you select which channel you want to watch and also record at the same time. I checked the handbook again and it says as I wrote.

I also have a Sony KD32DX51U and it has (like every other idtv) 2 tuners , 1 digital tuner and 1 analogue tuner. if you use the menu you can select which signal is outputed on scart 2.

i dont want to get into a protractive argument on who right or wrong
