I've wired up my HCPC ATI monitor output to a Scart cable as described at http://www.idiots.org.uk/vga_rgb_scart/ and configured PowerStrip as instructed. However, when I connect it to AV1, the TV switches to RGB mode, but the colours aren't right - it's as if a magnet's been put to close to the screen. If I open the Write application which should be a screen of white, the middle of the screen is pink and the top is light green. I normally have Sky using AV1 RGB, which is fine.

I've tested it on another Sony - KV14LM1U - no problems, so it can't be an issue with the wiring (I've re-wired & checked 4 times) or the graphics card.

Is it a problem with the DX40 & can it be fixed?

    Thanks,
    David.

Have you tried mailing the guy who wrote the article on the website. Got the DX40 myself but and although I like the idea the telly is too expensive to risk nuking it.

Yes, but he couldn't figure out what the problem was. There really isn't a risk as long as you double check the wiring. It's just a disclaimer really.

You'll need to wire the blanking control to the PC's 5V power supply to get the DX40 to switch to RGB if you give it a go. It's not that difficult as long as you have a steady hand with a soldering iron. Be interesting to see if you get the same problem.

    Cheers,
    David

Anyone else have an idea what the problem could be? I'd really like to solve this so I can put all my HC kit into one HCPC box.

    Thanks.
