Sony KD32DX200 PCMCIA slot ??

Bought the KD32DX200. Looked around but cant find the pcmcia slot. I assumed this is where I would stick the Top UP TV card if I get one?. The Sony site suggest there is one. The sales guy in the Sony shop said there is one. But the user guide (which says its a KD32DX200U) makes no mention. Have I got old stock or am I not looking in the right place?

The set is going back anyway next week as it has a tube/gausing fault (see my other post).

Apparently the PCMCIA slot is concealed behind a panel at the back that you have to unscrew. Sounds a bit daft. If this is the case, do Sony expect that little old ladies are going to feel confident about taking a screwdriver to a £1000 set.

Does anyone know the facts here or have I been told more bolockz by the Sony Centre?

There is a small cover to unscrew to the right of the scart sockets on the back of the set.

Does anyone use the Top up card. Is it straight forward to use?

You can't simply stick the card in the slot on the back of the tv. You need an extra piece of hardware called a CAM (Conditional Access Module) that goes in the slot. The card then fits into the CAM.

CAMs cost £40 available from Topuptv.

Or get an old Ondigital CAM from Ebay

BTW E4 is going FTA later this year
