I have a Sony KD-49X7052 with strong fibre broadband (130Mbps) and newly installed TV aerial cable. Sony TV picked up all the channels (188) and the signal quality 60% - signal level 49%. I have the latest firmware as of 01/07/2021

I can watch any SD channels just fine. HD channels just froze, distorted and crackly noises.

Is the signal level a deciding factor regarding getting quality HD channels?

Please help. Thank you

Yes, signal level is the most important factor.
As a test unplug any HDMI connected equipment at both ends and if the HD channels return replace the HDMI connections one by one and if the HD channels are affected again replace the last one you reconnected. Always keep them as far apart as possible from the aerial feed cable.
They have been known to radiate spurious RF and can knock out and block Freeview channels and MUX's.

Just called a TV aerial guy to come out and readjusted the aerial position. Signal level is at least 90% with a green bar. HD channels are okay now.

Thank you for your suggestion
