Recorded from Sky +, The Vault, on to the HDD. I then, as I have on numerous occasions over the last 5 months, started to dub to a -R DVD. Before duubing commenced the error message "This programme cannot be recorded" came up.
This is the first time I have seen it. The manual doesn't cover it.
Was the programme copy protected.? It plays back fine for the HDD. I ignored the message and produced my first coaster.

    Any thoughts?

    Right, I've sorted it.

Tried recording other material from the HDD, that had been stored, and no error message. Tried a live recording, no problem with that either. The only thing left was to disconnect it from the mains ( Sky box owners does this sound familiar?). I'm happy to report it is working again.

Passed on to those HX 900/1000 owners who might at some stage experience the same problem.

Can anybody let me know what caused this? Static build up?

Probably just a dodgy disc - it happens on all DVD recorders. If it was the first of a new batch then there may be a compatibility issue (Sony DVD recorders don't like 8x DVD-R media). Otherwise don't worry.

    Thanks for that.
