Sony HX710 won't switch off when timer is set

I recently purchased a Sony HX710 which is good apart from the noise of the fan. I find it irritating and hope I will get used to it.

But bizarrely, when I have set the timer and switch off the machine, the fan keeps going. If I delete the timed programme, and switch off the machine, the fan switches off.

Someone else said I was imagining it, and so I set the timer again, and that time it did switch off. But tonight, the fan is definitely on while the machine is switched off.

Any ideas?

The reason the fan is on, is because the machine is still on - it is scanning the tv channels to see if there is a change in the start time of the programmes.

To stop this you need to de-select 'PDC / VPS' in the timer menu.

You are a genius! Or maybe I was just being stupid. Now, in retrospect, I can see that the fan was only on when PDC was set.

Thanks

Go to the programme you set the timer for, press tools button and choose timer setting, enter and adjust the timer settings.....simple
