Sony HX1000 and Double layer

    was wondering could the HX 1000 record on a double layer DVD

    No - there aren't any DVD recorders that can record onto dual layer DVDR media yet. The first will be models from Sony and LG - all due here in the UK around September. Selected Panasonic models may also have DVD+R DL recording around that time as well.

    The Sony, like many DVD recorders/players, will play DVD+R DL discs recorded on other burners.
