Reluctantly selling my Sony HW40es which i bought from [email protected] in summer 2014. There are only 75 hours on it as i have been in rented accommodation for the past year so have not been able to use the projector {which is why i am selling}. Tested a few days ago and all good. Still in box being protected by cushions. Also comes with two pairs of RF 3D glasses. There are a couple of very light scuff marks on the top casing, I think that's where the cushions have rubbed against it while in the box.

Will also be selling my Draper Diplomat tab tensioned screen. Can sell with projector or separately

Hi sorry been busy with kids all day. It's and electric tab tension screen with react2 material. As I said, I'm pretty sure it's 98in. It's either 96in or 98in.

Is there anything else you want to know?

    Cheers

Are you after pictures of me or the screen! [emoji3]
I'm not sure what the going rate for this one would be so I guess I'm open to offers.
I'll get a picture up in the morning for you.

Not very good photos of the screen but it's all I could do with the space I have at the moment.

    ImageUploadedByAVForums1451472362.304545.jpg ImageUploadedByAVForums1451472375.164207.jpg ImageUploadedByAVForums1451472564.645125.jpg

The width of the screen is 87in, which means based on 16:9 viewing that gives you a 100in viewing area. When the screen is fully dropped the height is 73in from white casing to the black bar at the bottom

I paid £1100 or possibly £1200 for it. It's hardly been used but is obviously 2nd hand. I'm open to sensible offers as I genuinely don't know what the going rate for these 2nd hand would be. If yourself or anyone else wants to make an offer we can go from there. Thanks

I think forum rules dictate that you have to price items first rather than asking for offers :)

For what it's worth, I would price it at what you want for it plus a little bit (assuming most people will want to haggle a little :) ). If you are really over-priced then you will likely get lower offers or have to wait for offers. You know what you paid and what you hope to recoup so from that you can work out a starting price and see if you have any takers :) Hope that helps.

    Hi there,
With the PJ, I have a number of questions:

    - Is there any warranty remaining?
    - If so, is it for the original purchaser only? Would you be willing to assist here if any problems arose?
    - Could you show any more pictures of the machine?
    - Are there any marks or scratches on the unit? (I appreciate it is gloss black, so may have some swirl marks from cleaning etc).
    - Could you show some pics of the PJ in action? :)

    Cheers

    Phil.

    Hi

If I remember correctly Sony give a 3 year warranty so there is just under a year and a half left

I would imagine the warranty is valid whoever owns the projector but if that's not the case I would certainly help out

There are a couple of very light marks on the top of the machine but not very noticeable, I will try and get a pic but not sure they will show up. I will get a couple of action shots for you but that will be tomorrow as it is packed away at the moment.

    Thanks

Philw101, I can confirm the 3-yr Sony Prime Support warranty these come with is fully transferable, seller just needs to email details of new owner to Sony PS.

Just echoing what gpt said. You may struggle by asking £1,400 for a 2nd hand one when UKprojectors are selling them new for £1,189

I saw this ad and also felt £1400 was wishful thinking. I know its got 2 pairs of glasses and would be interested what the RRP is for glasses? Edit: Kalibrate sell 2 sets of glasses and emitter for £100

UKProjectors do have them for £1189 (Sony VPL-HW40ES SXRD Home Theatre Digital Projector 1700 ANSI Lumens HD 3D NEW!) however you have to return it to the US if there is a problem or get the additional warranty (Mack Camera) which gets variable reviews.

The one that sold on here for £900 was also an import.

However I think a sensible price for this would be £1000. I would be interested however I live in Newcastle upon Tyne and the OP was the unit collecting

Petrolhead, you are spot on: Everybody above appears to be comparing the pricing of IMPORTED (not UK Sony prime support warranty) models unlike what this being offered here. However, whilst I cannot vouch for the seller given his absence of previous trading feedback, he is selling a virtually unused UK model here and it's worth more than that if they still sell for £1850 new (ok, you might be able to haggle a few quid off here and there, but until a replacement model for the HW40 comes along, I would say anything below £1250 is a good price, even before you add on the 3D glasses).

    GLWTS.

Well the OP, has not commented on his thread since 2nd Jan but is still frequenting the forum. He is probably waiting for a firm offer or has sold it elsewhere

Hi thanks for all your replies, much appreciated. For some reason most of my alerts seem to have stopped so didn't realise there had been so much activity on here. Which is why petrolhead said I have been on the forums but haven't been to the thread. As j said in the original listing, I'm reluctantly selling, but to be honest, not that fussed about whether it sells as I have worked out a way in which I could use it against a magnolia wall. Just means is need to get out a deck chair and also buy a sound bar as there is definitely no way of setting up the speakers and amp. Same goes for the screen. I do want to sell that so I may change the listing to give more emphasis on the screen.
