The HT SS1000 home cinema system has 2 optical inputs, one marked Video 2 and one marked SA-CD/CD. Can I connect a DVD player and a Satellite receiver via optical to these inputs or is the SA-CD/CD purely for CD players??
Thanks in advance

Yes mate they are essentially the same, on my htsf1000 i have my 360 connected via optical to the sa-cd/cd port and works a treat.

If your DVD has HDMI, then you should connect it to the DVD HDMI input. Then if you only have optical out on the DVD player, get a Maplin coax to optical convertor for about £13.00. If your DVD does not have HDMI, then just connect to the sacd optical input.
