    Hi all :hiya:

FYI Sony have dropped the price of the UK HS50 by £200 ish. This means we can sell them at £1399.99. Can't of course comment on other retailers but all UK dealers will get this reduction. As always demo if you can!

    Hi Benji

What's the delivery cost to Ireland and how does the online distance buying laws affect purchases made to here, i.e. is the 7 day return option available.

    Thanks

    Conor

    Hi Conor,

We can't actually send Sony kit out, basically as they strangle online retailers even on non-web business. So as we have a fully functioning popular dem room here and see a lot of people, we decided to take the better terms, keep the prices low and do in store only on Sony.

Not much to help to you though is it :suicide: talk about handing the competition the market!

Does this mean that they are trying to clear stocks to make way for the HS60, if so do you have a date as to when this will hit the shelves.

What is the nearest airport to you. How far of a drive.

I'm just thinking out loud here as discussion here regarding limits of auto-iris scares me a bit and I must also do a search here to see how they have resolved the 1:1 pixel mapping over HDMI.

EDIT: Might be better off waiting for the HS60. Maybe I'll take a trip over to see you when that becomes available.

I'm sure the HS60 has something to do with it, but at least 6 weeks or so for that to hit UK shelves I think. No price on the HS60 confirmed as yet, but should come soon.

Sony quite often reduce prices (HS1, HS2, HS3, HS10, HS20) to get things moving.

    Comer, Liverpool (1.5hrs) , Leeds-Bradford (50mins) & Manchester (45mins) that's quite a daytrip!

I'll tell the wife I'm taking her on a second honeymoon to England. "Oh, and by the way dear, I know of this really romantic place in Lancashire"

Benji, is it possible to set up a demo with the HS50 and Panasonic AE900, i've never seen either of these and I would like to see them sing against the Z4.

I could bring my HTPC which is usually ready to go.

Who knows if either turned out to be better than the Z4, I'd probably take one off your hands that day.

Your only up the road from me (well about 80 miles!)

    Imagine the forums - excitement Z4 v HS50 v Ae900!

The results of this would be very valuable for those us who are not really in a position to demo.

Comer, I can give you a whole guide book worth of secluded , countryside locations, complied over many years. But your good lady may be more interested in the designer clothes outlet at the end of the road :boring:

r0ne, certainly set that one up when the AE900's arrive this friday

We have a nice Uvem thing with loads of HD content in the dem room at the moment, but your machine will be equally welcome :)

Is that the pc you were telling me about last week, does that mean I could bring some hi-def stuff on standard dvd and play it in the demo room or would i still need to bring my laptop. Once you have the 900 ,z4 etc up and running I think me and dean will have to come over for another demo. Will you be stocking the new epson as well as im really interested in that one .

    Fallwood,

No need for your laptop, we have quite a bit of HD stuff on there, no monkey stuff unfortunately tho ;) and yes you could bring HD stuff on a standard DVD. No plans to stock epson atm :(

    Adenochrome, more than welcome

Ben, Have you set up a specific day for the PJ 'shootout' ?
Any impressions of the iris function on the TX200 yet ?
I'm willing to drive up from Norfolk for a demo, but might wait for the HS60 to arrive. Any news on the new Sony ?
    Cheers, Rob.

 They're asking £444 more for the HS50 than Benji, so I'll wait for Discount TV to give us a price on the HS60 !
