Have been considering the Sony for a few weeks, and read much about performance and initial user reports. This leads me to ask a few questions that I can't find the answers for. Any owners care to comment?

    1) Is it correct that you cannot use a 1280 x 720 res on the HDMI, as this gives a border all around the screen?
    2) Is it likely this will be fixed in a firmware update?
    3) If using a HTPC, and the image is resized to 1920 x 1080, is this problem removed?
    4) What would the best desktop resolution be for general working, if 1280 x 720 gives borders
    5) Are there problems with any other resolutions?

Finally, if there are any local owners of HS50's that want to test these questions in my garage, or that I can bring a HTPC to try out, let me know

    Thanks :)

The problem is that the DVI cable was very expensive, and runs under the floor. So its a case of have to or waste a lot of money :)

AFAIK VGA will only do 60Hz, not great for PAL...I stand to be corrected on this.

i saw that too comer, but tbh i have never actually witnessed any of this jerkiness. My TFT monitors are set at 60 Hz, and i playback PAL dvds NO problem on them, cant see a whisper of a problem.

i guess when i get a proj this will change though !
