Sony HS20 - How to connect to laptop?

I have a Sony HS20 projector and an old Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop.

I would like to connect the two together and am struggling!

The laptop only has a VGA output socket which, I presume is kicking out an analogue signal.

I do not have the PJ Multi Connector cable and am stuck with DVI, Component and S-Video inputs on the projector.

I have just tried a VGA to Component cable and connected it up. However, I get the message "Frequency Out of Range".

Is it possible to do what I am trying to do? Is it possible to feed an analogue signal into the Component inputs?

That is a very old PJ though where did you dig it up from?
We have had it installed in our tennis club for a few years....still works great!
