Sony HS20 and Pioneer 868 dvd player

    I have a Sony HS20 Pj which accepts:

    480i
    575i
    1080i
    640
    480p
    575p
    720p


    And a Pioneer 868 DVD player which outputs:

    720i
    720p
    1280p
    1920i

    Which is the best setup for me? They are connected via HDMI :)

    If you have the HDMI lead already then try all options available to you and see which you prefer, after all it is your system. To give you a head start it's gonna be 720p or above, 720p is closest to the HS20s resolution, but different projectors give different results and it might work better sending it a much higher resolution.

    Those figures you have listed for the 868 are the horz res rather than the line counts, it actually outputs 480i, 480p, 575/576i, 575/576p, 720p and 1080i.
