Posted this wrongly elsewhere I think- so trying it here.
    Hope that's OK

    Hi all

I've tried a search on this topic and can't find an answer specific to my TV.

I have a Sony 32FQ75. If I connect an RGB source to AV1 I thought I should see the three dot RGB symbol for AV1, but it's standard AV symbol.

I've tried both digibox and DVD with outputs set to RGB and AV1 set to RGB on TV. (with a new Thor fully wired scart lead, received today - but also with other scart leads)

I know many have posted on other Sony models (eg SG on LS60),
but does anyone know if this is :

    a) a fault
    b) another "characteristic" of FQ75 or
    c) me being stupid.

    hope someone can help

    Cheers
    Jim

Have you tried toggling the "video in" button on the remote?

That's the one with an arrow going horizontally into a TV screen.

It usually toggles between AV, S-Video, RGB, Component etc etc.

    Thanks Jim

I just tried that and it toggles between the 4 inputs - AV1,2,3 and front panel input.:thumbsdow

    Thanks again for your suggestion
    Cheers

Jim, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this set bothers to tell you what type of source it's receiving - just tells you which one you're on, eg AV1, AV2 etc. So long as both the source and the TV are set to RGB you should be OK. Jolly boring there's only one RGB input, isn't it? The FQ80, successor to this set, has two I believe.

    Thanks Bernard

If you're right then I've been worrying unduly.

One RGB is definitely boring. At present I'm piggybacking DVD and Digibox. However, I'm going to try S-video for DVD as others have said good things about it.

Only had FQ75 a couple of months so too soon to upgrade :)

    Thanks for your reply
    Cheers
    Jim
