Sony HDR-TG3E Vs Sanyo VPC-HD2000

Have been looking into getting a HD Camcorder but wanted a quality cam that is comparatively small compared with more expensive Sony, Canon Panasonic models etc.

Finally have narrowed my search from the hundreads of camcorders out there down to the Sony HDR-TG3E and the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2000

You can get both for just above the £400 mark so it's a bit of a dead heat.

The Sanyo records to mpeg4 whereas the Sony to AVCHD.

Anybody used any of the above? Just wanted a bit of feedback so i can make the right choice.

Cheers.

I cant speak for the Sanyo but TBH cant imagine its picture quality will be as good as the Sony.

IMO the Sony is superb, although does suffer in low light conditin. However in normal lighting condition the footage is absolutely awe inspiring (at least on my Samsung 46" it is) and I cant recommend it enough.

The fact it fits in your pocket means you end up getting footage you just wouldnt with a normal size camcorder

Cheers
