Just purchased a new HDR-HC7E £700. Been using DCR-HC96(great camera) editing with Pinnacle 9.4 with no problems. Present computer specs are AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.61GHZ with 1GB Ram, using 2 hard drives 150gb and 120 gb, burning using a Pioneer DVR 111 with Windows XP Pro. Now with the new video having HD the present specs are not up to scratch for using it! I will need a new high spec computer building(any suggestions?)Also would my Windows XP Pro work on the new comp and be better/more reliable than Vista? Would like to use Pinnacle 11 (any views?)

Cheers

Pinnacle 9 will not edit HDV but 11 will along with all the software realesed in the last 18 months
Im pretty sure any moderd 9 core duo PC with more than 1Gb of RAM will edit HDV
However this is also software dependent and Sony Vegas 6/7/8 which can, might actually be able to do it with your current PC ,However oomph more is better
HDV by no means as resource hungry as AVCHD
