First of all, Sony HD3, great piece of kit. I was just wondering with SonicStage 2.3 if it was possible to have tracks automatically transfer to ATRAC3plus, at a higher bit rate than the bog standard 48Kbps. I can't seem to find out what to change in the Transfer mode settings, since it is standard mode ("as is"), and then minimum bit rate, and that is the last of the options. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Archy
1. upgrade to SS 3.1. Go on sony.co.uk then support at the top. 2. tools - options - cd drive settings - cd importing - select format on SS 3.1 a MP3 encoder is inc as well. Bear in mind: Atrac: gapless playback on Sony players MP3: compatibility with most, if not every DAP in my opinion: Atrac 256 (highest quality Atrac) is better than MP3 320. But thats subjective. Rip 3 songs in 3 format settings to see which you like. You have 20gb to play with, so find best compromise between file size + SQ
step 2 is the same for SS 2.3 I was just suggesting upgrade! SS 3.1 has better layout, and slightly faster
Step 2 though is only for CD's, is there a way to transfer songs from your own hard disc to the HD3 in ATRAC3plsu automaticaly?
oh! there is a setting to auto transfer new songs when HD3 is connected. you can tell SS, when auto transferring, whether to keep songs in current format, or convert to your specified format. look in tools for it.
I couldnt find the option you were speaking of, I guess it is in the 3.1 version. I have upgraded, all seemed to go smoothly, and the transfer options seem to be substantially better - you can specify what Kb to transfer it as, mission accomplished. Thanks LFC_SL for your help, Arhy.
