Now get them in to the domestic market!

Sony has announced it has sold 15,000 OLED displays since its TRIMASTER OLED master monitor went on sale last year. Sales, naturally, were largely garnered from major production broadcasters and post-production companies.

In recognition of Sony’s TRIMASTER EL OLED product range, Adam Luckwell, Managing Director of UNIT Post Production, said: “UNIT’s emergence as one of the top post production companies in London has been in part due to the use of the very best technology. Our research showed us that OLED technology is an ideal solution for professional monitors, and therefore we decided to replace all our products with this model standard.”

The announcement was made by Sony at IBC 2012 where they also launched 2 new OLED displays in the OLED PVM-741 and LCD LMD-941W which they say boast a whole new bunch of features to make the creatives' lives easier.

Daniel Dubreuil, Senior Product Specialist at Sony Europe, said: “These new monitors are the next step in professional displays, providing end-users with the highest picture quality available in the market. Our objective is to develop products that deliver the most accurate visual performance, while encompassing an extensive feature set that enhances user flexibility.”

Steve Withers was lucky enough to get up close and personal with Sony's professional OLED monitors back in February and we await Sony's announcement that they'll be hitting the domestic market with OLED technology with great anticipation.
