That is a very basic package you are using, to get the best out of your setup use Adobe Premiere elements or at least Nero 7, then you can burn where you like, hard drive, DVD etc. VCD is not much better than video tape.

    Welcome to the forum NashTax

To get video onto your hard drive from a camcorder... you don't 'burn' it there [ unless you want a disk image of it ] ... you go through a process of what is called 'video capture'.

You could use Windows XP's native 'Movie Maker' for that.

It should be present under Start / All programs / Accessories.

If it is not - you can access it by typing 'Video Capture' in Start / Help and Support.

Connect your camcorder to the PC.

    Open Movie make.

Press F1 and follow the 'Getting Started' link.

That should tell you what you need to know.

May I ask why you want to get the Video on the PC? What do you want to do with it there?
