Sony GX700 Connections

Hello,

I am looking at buying a Panasonic Plasma.
I already have an Amstrad Sky box & that is connected via Scart to the GX700, which goes to my current tv via scart. Even when the DVD Recorder is off I still get a picture on the AV channel from the SKy box.

If I connect the GX700 to the plasma, via component, will it still let me view SKY without the Recorder being turned on ( Pass thorugh signal??)

Sorry for the late reply but nope, this is not possible.

You need power for the RGB -> Component conversion to take place.

However, it's worth it for the quality signal and to obviate the need for yet another bit of kit to do the conversion (i.e JS converter) which would require a power source anyway.
