    hi

just wondered what everyone thought about this phone and where would be the cheapest place to get it

im on 02 atm-would it be easier to just sign up for another contract than buying the phone sim free?

if you want a good camera or screen, its the phone for you. any other reason, i would consider another phone if i were you. the video is lacking, no HTML browser, really slow and laggy interface, bluetooth that most people can't figure out how to work properly, slow CPU, not exactly the best in terms of phone performance, very overpriced for what it offers, very expansive memory, memory thats limited to 128MB, etc.

If you want an SE then go for the K700i or Z600. Both excellent phones and well reviewed on the web. I have both.
The Z600 has, in my opinion a better implementation of bluetooth and voice dialling. I have used it as my business phone for a number of years.
The K700i has a more up to date OS and better camera.
I got my K700i recently from Carphone Warehouse with a half price bluetooth headset and money back for an old barely working Nokia. However deals change on a regular basis.

no because the s700i has a 1.3 megapixel camera.

the s700i is the best phone around at the moment in my opinion but it is a bit on the bulky side. i bought mine just after xmas on o2 it cost my £40 for the handset (but you may be able to get it free now) £30 line rental with 200 mins any network and 50 texts. and it is double for 6 months (400 and 100).

are you talking about the k700i or the s700i? theres been lots of people having problems with the k700i and the s700i on o2. if you want the k700i, you're out of luck because o2 have now stopped selling it due to the number of complaints o2 have received concerning problkems with the phone. the s700i is proving to be just as problematic as the k700i is according to this and other articles/forums:

    Not true...http://www.kawagpz.dk/default.asp?pageid=34

fixes the small video a treat.

Disagree with laggy interface, agree with the memory limitations, and it has a faster cpu than the k700i etc. Although I would say it's a k700i that looks a hell of a lot cooler with a far better screen and camera. The camera is amazing in daylight but in low light conditions the gx30i is far superior due to a better flash. Is an excellent handset but there are better...personally looking at getting a sharp 902 unlocked  i hate how i get bored with phones so easily :(

video - unless you want to upgrade your phone as soon as you get it, the vid rec is limited to around 1min 45secs. with the new firware upgrade, it allows around 30mins, but is still not full screen and it still stutters.

faster cpu? - that may well be so, but things aren't quite so clear cut as that. the OS/hardware on the s700i is more complex than that of the k700i. it just so happens that the upgrade in CPU is less than what should be required considering the change in software/hardware. thats why the UI of the k700i is faster than that of the s700i. the animation doesn't help the speed of the UI either.

Looks fullscreen to me after I've encoded it using that link.....

The length of the video recording doesn't bother me, if I wanna record a home video I'll buy a good camcorder ;) for mms its spot on, and coming from a nokia 6600 the UI is lightning fast.
