Appears it's a lack of playback support for BD-J enhanced titles. A bit frustrating given the Sony and Pioneer were late to market to "iron out all the BD glitches". HD DVD required a firmware update (V2) to support some of the more interactive titles althouth PIP worked out of the gate (Bourne Sup). But HD DVD released the update prior to the titles and you get the choice to update the player direct via the internet or disc. I guess the Sony will need a disc as it doesn't support a network connection.

    Reported here.

Sony will apparently be releasing a firmware release soon, which they will be sending out to registered owners on DVD. It will NOT be available for download from their website.

Er... You can't! The only option is to register it at the address of a friend/ colleage/relative who lives Stateside. Unfortunately (for me) I have yet to find one?

Perhaps you could register on the US equivalent of this site - www.avsforum.com - someone there may be willing to mail on their update once they've used it?
