Sony DVPNS930V, Brightness, Gamma ??

    Does this model allow you to adjust the brightness and Gamma settings.

    Its just that I have had a few players over the last few months and the picture has been quite dark on my Panny 36PD30 with not much detail in dark scenes.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    cant you change the picture on the panny instead?

    Yes, but this makes all the blacks look grey.

    If you can change the Gamma settings on the DVD player this should hopefully give more detail in dark secenes whilst keeping the blacks looking black.

    try turning the gamma on the tv up whilst turning down the brightness.....

    I cant answer whether the player can do something similar im afraid

    My TV has no Gamma option

    ahha, that probably explains it then! There may be a service entry to the tv that might allow you to fix this.....have you looked to see if the dvd player has different presets like dynamic/normal/cinema? Something like that might help you
