Just received my new player today, it's replacing an LG 3350e, in its time a fine budget/midrange player. I can't believe how good the picture on the Sony 905 is, the difference between it and the LG is like going from VHS to my original Wharfdale 750 dvd, absolutely stunning! The extra detail and increased colour palette the Sony grabs from a disc is just outrageous.
The on board decoders are a hit and a miss. The DTS decoder is favourably comparable to my Kenwood KRF 7030, less bass laden but better balanced, the Dolby 5.1 decoding is poor compared to the Kenwood, lacking bass almost completely.
As a CD player, I'm no audiophile but it sounds sweet to me.
    I haven't got any SACD's so I can't comment on that.
The Sony is Multiregion, coped with R1 T2 UE no problem.
£319.95 from AVLAND, free delivery in 2 days.
    I am a happy badger!
