Sony DVP-S725D -R/RW Compatible?

    Will I be able to play either of these format discs on this player?
    The poor old thing has always given me trouble with most CDR's but is still a damn fine machine.
    I can borrow a recorder & was hoping to to copy some Video 8 tapes onto disc so I can get rid of my camcorder.

    it'll play a couple of brands of CD-R's and CD-Rw, but generally, it won't.

    Most players will playback DVD-R's -my 1st gen Sony plays backv DVD-R, but not DVD-RW's.
