Just a quick post to clear the situation on hacks for early Sony models (pre-2000). The following models can ONLY be modified by a direct firmware chip swap, which involves opening your player, and chipping it (major SMT soldering required). There is NO other way to make it multiregion.

    DVP-S315
    DVP-S715
    DVP-S7000
    DVP-S7700
    DVP-CX850
    DVP-F11
    DVP-S325
    DVP-S525
    DVP-S725

Hope that finally clears this up!

    Evidently, it didn't :)

I'm still trying to find the supposed '860 pronto file. IIRC, there was a Norwegian site with some codes on it and they were compiled into a pronto ccf for the DVP-CX860. No idea if it worked but recall reports of sucsess. But let's hope you're right with respect to this vintage of Sony player (I'm sure you are).

    Cheers,
    Mike.
