    this cost around 430 new.
Why dont sony seem to hold their value as much as denon and pioneer?

This player is a few generations old, in which time prices have come down.

I paid about £250 for my Sony 900, and got £180 when I sold it. By this time, the Sony 930 had come out, and had many improvements over the 900 (albeit not the same build quality), and was retailing for £220.

I have just bought a Denon DVD2200 for £299 brand new. This retailed at £600 at couple of months ago, but I am guessing I would get no more than I paid if I were to sell it now.

The Denon should hold alightly more long term value, but there will not be much in it.

I sold one privately a few months ago and got £150 for it. So I guess that's about the going rate.
