Which of these two sub £100 players would you recommend?

Also, would any of these players do a better job at upscaling than my Samsung LE26R74BDX?

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

hi mate
i can't comment on the samsung, but i can definitely recomend the sony. i've got my ns76h connected to my LG 32lx2r lcd through hdmi and the picture is cracking:thumbsup: the player itself is well built and theres a good set up menu to mess around with.
play it safe and get the sony.

Ok thanks for the info mate. I may get the sony as i have seen a lot of support for it on these forums. Can anyone else make any recommendations?

Me too.

Users have posted in the main NS76 thread that, subjectively, it gives as good an upscaled picture as the highly regarded Oppo.

Just watched Back to the Future 3 for the hundredth time.
After watching loads of HD I am still impressed by the picture quality of the Sony. HD-DVD will have to be exquisit to provide much better.

What it would be like on a 40" tv is a different matter.

I am, at the moment, quite happy to be impressed by most pictures on my 32" Panasonic.
