    Hi all

can you disable the macrovisuon on the Sony DVP-NS700?

I bought the multi-region from Richersound and it plays every disk my old Sammy wouldn't. The samsung had the handset hack which turn off the macrovision and made it mulit region.

    best wishes Daley56

    I don't think so.

You'll need one of these scart adapter thingies, available from the likes of keene electronics.

Not tried a R 1 DVD yet. I'll let you know when I have.

The Sony was bought from Richersounds Multi Region from the box.

You are asking this for the purposes of being able to back up to VHS or DVDR I suppose?

In which case even if macro was off you would still not be able to record as the R1 disc signal would be output as NTSC.

Unless your recording equipment can record a pure NTSC signal you can't do it. Very few bits of equipment over here can record that way.

Even if your source dvd player had a NTSC to PAL converter onboard it would probably be to PAL60 and not PAL50, in which case same problem. Once again very very few players convert NTSC to PAL50.

If that wasn't why you were asking I'm sorry if I've gone off on one !!
