I have a Hitachi C32WF810 TV and a Sony DVP S735D DVD player.

I have connected the DVD player to the TV using with an S Video to SCART connector.
I was going to uses Svideo to S video by the S video input on the TV is on the front panel so the missus would not be happy with the aesthetics!

Anyway, I have made the connection from the DVD player to the TV (AV 2 socket) but the picture comes out in monochrome.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks

You will have to tell the TV to expect an SVideo signal on AV2. You do this by going into the setup menus (on most TVs anyway) and selecting SVideo instead of composite. That will fix your problem.

Why not use the RGB out from the DVD and into the TV RGB scart for a better picture?
