Sony DVD recorder Model RDR-HXD710 will not accept the signal from the remote controller to change settings. Have done the normal checks, such as fitting new batteries. Eventriedit witha new remote but still not accepting the signals.
The DVD recorder works correctly when manually changing the settings on the front of the unit. But this means siiting down on the floor in front of it.
Is it possible to fit a new sensor receiver in the DVD recorder and how much is a new spare part?

On the bottom right of the remote [ possibly under a flap - not sure] is a command mode slide switch with three options.

Mode 3 is the normal mode- Switch it to that if it isn't already... and try again.

If it is already at 3, try the other 2 modes and see if you get any results.
