Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has successfully used a remote control hack on this player to allow multiregion playback?

Thanks for any feedback

Already been answered few times on an earlier threads (forum search).

Basically there are no handset hacks for any Sony model. This thread will help with "FREE" modification options you can do yourself, or the banner at the foot of these forums for a "PAY" option.

I ordered a remote from dvdchips (a panasonic dvd player, which, like Sony, there are no hacks for unless you buy a chipped remote) and it actually works!

It can be done....with a special remote....but it costs !!!

1. hold magic button device key blinks twice
2. press 994
3. press magic
4. enter 3digit code from above
5. press button (1..5) where to program it
6. repeat steps 1 to 5 for all keys.

have a go:
1. remove disk, put player on standby

I just hacked my new RDR-HX510 using a remote I got off ebay, cost was £9.99 and return postage for the remote. Bit of a bargain and it works.
If anybody wants to know who it was from, ( Its not me, or anybody I know personally!) just ask

Sure, put this item number into ebay, 5840129623 If this isnt available or the listing is ended, contact the seller.

It definately works, he sends full instructions and its really simple to do. If it doesnt work the first time, keep pressing the Mac 1 button every few seconds ( all will become clear when you get the remote) , it will eventually do it

Or you could just buy a OFA remote from argos, use it then take it back within their 16 days returns policy.... :D

Thanks for this Justin. I'm in a dilemma. I can buy this recorder for £295 standard or £329 professionally hacked... My current DVD player I bought from the same place selling it professionally hacked www.multiregionmagic.co.uk but my current player I've had problems with so would prefer to buy a standard model and hack via remote.

The only thing is, will this hack play all my RCE etc. DVDs from the US?

I would prefer to buy a unmodded player, so will this hack do everything a professionally modded hack would do?

Thanks :)

if you have not bought the unit yet, then buy it pre-modded! Yes it costs a little more, but the whole point of specialist multiregion dealers such as multiregionmagic selling pre-modded machines is that you have not lost your warranty as you purchased the unit pre-modified - any problems and the dealer will resolve the problems direct.

...So will the 510 hack work for the 310?:lease:
Looking at the list of players that the 510 hack will do, the 310 isnt listed. The 210 can be hacked using a cd. If you cant get any other info on a hack for your 310, look at the link I posted on the first page of this thread or check out this item in ebay ( 5840129623 ) Ask the seller if he can do a 310 hack for you.

:suicide: How many times??!

The 310 is nothing like a 210 (a 210 is, infact, made by LG and badged sony) and CAN be hacked like a 510.

When using this process if you are using a One 4 All remote put a 0 in front of the 3 digit codes ie 0189 1.
it will then work. Have Fun

Yeah that will work out loads cheaper and less hassle then buying it pre-modded from a specialist dealer, or hacking a unmodded one sourced direct in the UK!

Hey I am looking for a Hack for DAVFX10 system in USA. I have an OFA remote. Please advice at [email protected]

Thanks

Region 1 NTSC models cannot be hacked. They are NTSC only, and even if you could modify it for multiregion, it still won`t be able to read or play a PAL disc. This has nothing to do with multiregion, but video formats and there is nothing you can do, its NTSC only! Only dual format PAL/NTSC sony models (I.e UK/European R2, Australian R3, Asian R4 models) can be modified for all regions.

I have the Sony RDR HDX560 DVD recorder. In trying a multi region hack I have screwed up the remote do the unit will not respond. I set the recorder to DV1 in system setup. £The manual does warn that it has to be DV3 but I read this too late!
Does anyone know of a hard reset. The front panel buttons do respond.

I have the Kameleon URC 8060. The Sony will not respond to either 0533 or 0573.
Any suggestions
Please help, help, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
