This might sound silly but here goes.

My brother is finding trouble recording Freeview from his new Sony TV with built in Freeview on to his new Sony DVD Recorder. He says when he switches his TV off it does not record and a blank screen is all that is recorded.

Does his TV have to be on at all times to record Freeview? But then suddenly stop recording when switched off? Is the DVD Recorder faulty?

Thanks in advance for help from people with Sony TVS and DVD recorders.

When i used to record Freeview from my Sony IDTV you had to leave the set in standby and your recorder had to be connected to Scart socket no.2 on the TV set.
    Hope this helps.
