I'm very interested in one myself? Not using a DVDR recorder at all myself. Any comments on DVD-RW vs DVD+RW? Any quality differences? Anyone reckon any manufacturer will be brave enough to produce a DVDV,DVDA,SACD,DVD-RW,DVD+RW,HD recorder?

    Avland sell them too:
    www.avland.co.uk

They have 2 versions, I think the only difference between them is the lack of firewire

The GX7 is £700 multi region with 50 Sony DVD-R's
The GX3 (out in september) is £450

    Definitely getting one!

    luv ya jen,

I had a demo of the GX7 a few weeks ago and I agree upto the 120min mode is superb, but the 180 and 240min modes are totally unwatchable all blocky etc. As I need these as a must have the picture quality in these two modes totally put me off buying the recorder. A standard VHS video is far better for 180mins and above recording.

Shame its a stunning piece of kit otherwise.

    Klippie.

    Hi
Are all the other brands of DVD recorders not the same at 180 mins and longer?
