Does anyone know if the 'V' on the Sony DVPNS900V DVD Player differ from the Sony DVPNS900 DVD Player, or are the same player?

    Its the same one.

I bought it a month ago, very impressed, it also plays SVCD so my camcorder clips are migrating quickly to CD.

Haven't got an SACD disk yet, so can't tell you what that is like, but the video capabilities are rock solid, I'm using Component video into my plasma and it blows you away! The build quality is extremely high. I've seen some good prices for it now the 905 is out.

    Thanks for that.

I hate it when you are looking to buy a new electrical item & you always spot something different on another website, it completely throws you!

Do you have your player chipped, if so is the chip RCE safe?:)

I haven't got it chipped, it is region 2 only.

I beleive that it can be modded by a special remote handset that you can hire, but don't know what affect this has on RCE disks.

If you don't mind me asking, what price did you pay & where did you get it from?

I got it from Currys in Milton Keynes. They had the wrong ticket price on it, but finally agreed to sell it to me at that price.

    I paid £149.97.

If anyone has a NS900, would like it multiregion for free, and has a Palm handheld (or the possibility of borrowing one), please feel free to contact me and I'll help you out.

And the NS900, atleast firmware 1.20 and up (I tested with firmware 1.20), plays RCE discs (tested with Charlie's Angels).
