Anyone have any ideas what may cause DVD sound to get out of synch with the picture? Sometimes it's barel noticable but the longer you leave it more out of synch it gets. Stoping and restarting the disc gets it back in synch, but it can go again.

    cheers

    john.

    It's a Sony 525 DVD
    Sony STRDB830 Amp

The DVD is connected direct to the TV via a scart lead with the Digital Optical cable to the Amp for the sound.

Lip synch problems are a feature of the x25 series of Sony DVD players. You can send it back to some suppliers and they will fit the latest version of the firmware, which apparently cures the problem. It costs, though. The other option is to run the laser calibration routine from the service menu before you play the disk. I've seen this recommended as an option, but have never noticed any difference when I've tried it!
